What's The Catch?

The waters of Merry Lake contain the following species of fish:​

FISHING ON MERRY LAKE

  • Largemouth Bass

  • Crappie

  • Blue Gill

  • Sunfish

  • Perch

  • Channel Catfish

  • Bullhead

  • Carp

  • Shiners

Licensing Information:

You must purchase a fishing license if you are 17 years of age or older to fish. If you are under 17, you may fish without a license, but you are required to observe all fishing rules and regulations. Please note, a license is required when targeting fish, amphibians, crustaceans and reptiles.  For more information or to obtain a fishing license, please click on the button below.

The 3rd Annual Youth Fishing Derby was held on Saturday August 12th at Trausch Park, located on the East side of the lake.  Hosted by Terry Runyan, a great turnout was had with the help of several community sponsors as outlined below.  The 2024 event is right around the corner, so be sure to mark your calendars!
